01The boundary the whole discipline turns on.

- A review built one study to a paragraph, which reads as an inventory. Built around ideas, with the disagreements out in the open, it becomes an argument and collects the synthesis row.

03The sequence everything later leans on.
Methods first, then statistics, then something applied that presumes both. It is the spine of the degree and the stretch people arrive least ready for, since almost nobody enrolled in psychology out of an interest in sampling frames.
It also compounds in a way few subjects do. Methods hands you the vocabulary, statistics assumes you have it, and a thesis assumes both plus the nerve to defend a choice to somebody pressing on it. A shaky start does not stay one course; it becomes a term of statistics you cannot follow and a proposal that keeps coming back.
