01Two attachments and you are done.
The brief, and the scoring guide. That is the whole intake for a Capella assessment, and the guide is the half that matters, because it names each criterion and shows in its own words what the top band expects. A desk working without it is guessing at the shape of the thing.
Within two hours you get back a criterion map: every row listed, what the highest band is actually asking for in each, and a figure. Nothing about that costs anything, and a fair number of people read the map, see that two criteria were never addressed, and go and fix it themselves.
If you would rather start smaller, send the draft you already have. A read against the guide, criterion by criterion, telling you which rows are at band and which are short, is a much cheaper order and frequently the only one needed.
02Written to the guide, not around it.
Every criterion becomes a section that exists on the page, headed in the guide's own language so faculty looking for row four find row four. That sounds mechanical because it is, and it is the difference between a paper somebody enjoyed writing and a paper that scores.
The move from a middling band to the top one is nearly always the same move, and it is learnable. The lower band asks you to do the thing; the higher one asks you to do it and then weigh it, qualify it, or tie it to something else in the assessment. Same content, one extra analytic turn, usually two sentences long.
- Each criterion gets its own headed section, in the guide's wording.
- The verb in the top band decides what that section does: describe, evaluate, compare, justify.
- Compound criteria asking for two things get both, since half an answer is marked as half.
- Support is attached to claims rather than parked at the end of a paragraph.
- The draft comes back with the guide mapped against it so you can check the fit yourself.
03Who picks it up.
Nursing work at MSN and DNP level is much the busiest stream here, and it goes only to nurses. Psychology, counselling, business and public health each have their own person. Doctoral capstone work moves to a different desk entirely, because it answers to a committee rather than a courseroom date, and pricing it like an assessment would misrepresent both.
Nothing is written inside your courseroom. Everything arrives as a document that you place yourself, which keeps the submission in your hands and means no credentials change hands, which we neither ask for nor want to hold.
Where a practicum is running alongside and stuck, that is a separate problem with a separate answer at placement and hours, and it will not be fixed by writing.
04If the real problem is pace.
Plenty of people arrive asking about one assessment when the actual difficulty is that nothing has moved in three weeks and the billing period is turning over. That is worth saying out loud on the slip, because it changes what is worth buying.
A self-paced route removes the deadlines and keeps the cost, so what helps is not more writing but somebody putting dates back in and holding you to them, with the heaviest assessment sequenced somewhere other than last. Where you want the whole term carried instead, that is the whole course.

Can one assessment be ordered and nothing else?
Yes, and it is the commonest order from Capella students. There is no minimum, nothing recurs afterwards, and no part of the arrangement assumes a second one. Plenty of people use the house once during a bad month and never again, and that is exactly what it is for.
How fast can an assessment be turned round?
Usually days rather than weeks, though length and the amount of reading the criteria demand both move it. The slip carries a real date, not an encouraging one. Where a deadline leaves no room to satisfy the guide properly, the order is turned down rather than filled badly.
Will the writing pass as mine?
It is pitched at your programme's register rather than copied from a sample. Send two or three of your own submissions and they are read first. Where the assessment has a required format, that is followed instead, because it is what faculty expect to find on the page.
Does anybody log into my courseroom?
No. Everything is produced outside it and handed to you as a document, which you submit yourself in your own time. We do not ask for account details, would rather not hold them, and nothing about the arrangement depends on having them.
What if I only want to know whether my draft is close?
Send it with the scoring guide and ask for a read rather than a rewrite. You get a criterion-by-criterion assessment: which rows already sit at band, which fall short, and precisely what the short ones are missing. It is a small order and often the only one needed.
